Some of the top computing companies like IBM, Microsoft and Intel are racing to develop a quantum computer. Some o such machines will be ready as soon as this year. Last January, IBM announced at the CES (consumer electronic show) in Las Vegas that they are going to introduce the worlds first integrated quantum computer for business and research purposes, to be made available later this year. This kicked up the usually breathless press coverage about quantum computers are going to change everything. the truth are not really sure that what will quantum computer change. It might change everything but it's likely that nothing will remain unaffected by it, even if indirectly

What is Quantum Computing ?    

Quantum computer is when a computer uses the quantum superposition of the particle that store data the way a bit does it in a classical computer. Qubits as they are called, exist Intermediate state bounded by 1 and 0. This means they can be 1,0 or both the universe hasn't decide yet which one it want to be.

This allow us to solve several problem at once by exploiting the superposition of these qubits, opening the door of solving classes of problem that might  require hundred if not thousands of years to solve a classical computer

• The Possibility of quantum computing was first proposed by Physicist Richard Feynman in  1982.
• While conventional computer use binary "bits"( one and zero) as the process for calculation, a quantum computer uses quantum bits, known as qubits -which can exist in both states simultaneously as well as many other state in between.
•  The world's first dedicated quantum computing focused on commercial business- 1Qbit was established in Vancouver, British Columbia, 2012.
• IBM launched Q, which offer 5 Qubit quantum computing services via cloud in 2016. last year it upgraded to 20 qubits of quantum processing power.
• Organisation which publicly known to be making use of D-wave's quantum computing infrastructure include Google and NASA and Lockheed Martin.

Quantum Computing Will change artificial intelligence by giving massive computing power to enable a faster and more robust AI especially in natural language processing and general AI . We have accomplished a great deal just in the past few years with the current advances in computing power. Quantum computing is leap and bound more advanced than anything we have today. An AI on a quantum computer has the potential to hold a real conversation with human's and actually understand what is being said.

The power of quantum computers will dwarf our current processing capabilities, in the new era of knowledge and discovery. On the downside power poses such a significant threat to cyber security that we are going to have completely rethink the way secure commercial transaction ( all other data transfer ) none of them will be safe . Fortunately quantum cyber-security is already tackling that challenges with advance including quantum key distribution , quantum safe algorithm and true random numbers. The race is on time is beginning to get tight.
