Facebook owned photo and video sharing app Instagram has launched a new feature that allow the user to place food orders through the app, as the part of the an effort to support local businesses during lockdowns.

An sticker can be added to the Instagram stories which allow users of the app to order food items form their favorite local eateries. There is also an option to purchase gift cards through the Instagram app  with the help of the simple sticker. this feature are already being tested in the few countries such as united states and united kingdom, but reports suggest it may soon will be available to the global level.

According to Instagram, a new Action button will be added to a business or a restaurants profile, or a food Order stickers may be added to their Instagram stories. The user who will tap on the button will be able to make purchase through the food business's website.  

The aim is to help the local business online during the lockdowns. also, this will limit the masses to step out of their home to buy an food item. As a part of the new feature, an Action button will be added to restaurants profile. Also, any of the food delivery company's profile could also add an order sticker to their Instagram mentioned the initiative was designed to help companies fighting the challenges of the coronavirus disaster by permitting people to support local food retailers.
