Microsoft Offer $1,00,000 for Hacking its Linux Based OS

Tech giant Microsoft has announced a new bug bounty program under which hacker can up to $1,00,000 for hacking into his Linux based operating system challenge team that is Azure Sphere IoT  operating system. According to the report a compact and custom version of Linux was built by the software giant last year for its Azure sphere OS which is developed for its Internet of things.

The new researcher challenges aims to spark new high impact security research in Azure Sphere, a comprehensive IoT security solution delivering end to end security across hardware, OS and the cloud engaging the security research community to research for high impact vulnerabilities before the bad guys do is part of the holistic approach Azure Sphere is taking to minimize the risk.

Microsoft says it's particularly looking for hacks that would allow hackers to breach the Pluton security subsystem or on secure world sandbox. Those who are able to find vulnerability that would enable code execution on pluton and on secure world will be awarded with $1,00,000.

The research challenge focused on the Azure Sphere OS Vulnerability found outside the research initiative including the cloud portion may be eligible for the public azure Bounty Programs awards physical attacks are out of scope for the research challenge and the public Azure Bounty program.

Application will be reviewed on a weekly basis and accepted researchers will be notified by the e mail . then those top 50 application will be accepted into the programme they will be offered resources to support research.
