Offensive Security has launched its second version of Kali Linux 2020.2 with more improvements Powershell by default some changes in login and in the other features. many people don't know about the Kali Linux so It is one of the best Linux distribution for the security researcher and pen-testers because most of the tool which is used in hacking and pen-testing are already available in Kali Linux by default the previous was released in January 2020.
The new version of Kali Linux does not include a major feature like root user policy instead if focuses on refreshing and improving desktop environments icons installer, Kali NetHunter . So let's dive in to find out more about the latest Kali Linux 2020.2.
What's New in Kali Linux 2020.2 ?
In a previous version 2020.1, Kali Linux removed the shipping of individual ISO images with different desktop environments. This means you have the choice to select your own meta-package and desktop during the installation process. but this is easy method led to confusion for the user selecting everything in the installer that takes a long time to retrieve large-sized meta-package.
Hence to resolve this issue, the new Kali Linux removes 'Kali Linux-everything' option form the installer.It now caches the' Kali Linux-large ' meta-package and desktop environment in the ISO image. Though the image now large size then before, works perfectly for offline installation.

Changes to Installer
Kali will no longer ship individual ISO images with different desktop environment. The new Kali removes kali-linux-everything as an install option from the installer image. It also caches the kali linux large & every desktop environment into install image allowing for a complete offline network install also customization for live images has been removed allowing for full offline installation.
New Key Package & Icons
Kali Linux latest version release includes package such as GNOME 3, Python 3, Joplin replace Cherry Tree. They have included python 1 pip it has now end of life there no longer update for python 2.
Talking about package there are also refreshed package logos in this new version which will be visible in the Kali linux menu as well as the tool page.
