As you know that the two biggest cyber security conferences of the year that is known as the DEF CON and Black Hat have cancelled their in - person announced event today and announced plans to go with a virtual conference format in light of the COVID-19 pandemic

Every summer, large groups of Security Researchers, law enforcement, government agencies, security companies, the media and the hackers descend upon Las Vegas for the Black Hat and DEF CON security conferences where they learn about the latest security research and threats. Sadly, due to the pandemic, these two conferences will no longer be in- person and have been moved to all an virtual event.

The two conferences DEF CON and Black Hat were initially scheduled to take place in Las Vegas back to back in first two weeks of August 2020 with Black Hat from August 1 to August 6 with DEF CON from August 7 to August 9.

What is DEF CON and Black Hat ?

DEF CON is a hacker convention which take place immediately following Black Hat in Las Vegas every Year. As their name suggest these are the two most famous security conferences on their kind.Every year large groups of security researchers attend this conference. In conferences, they learn and discuss the latest security research and threats.

DEF CON and Black Hat will be Virtual this year

Black Hat has not announced how they plan on performing the virtual conferences and have stated they will post more information soon.

DEF CON stated that they plan on using their Discord Server to organize the virtual conferences and that their events will continue in an online format.

while this is sure to disappoint many people who look for annual summer security festivities for those people who were not able to attend , they may now have an opportunity to do so remotely.
